Karnataka State budget 2021 in March 1st week, says CM 

Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa announced that Karnataka state budget will be presented in the first week of March 2021, speaking to the media persons he said that the State Government is planning to present budget 2021 in 1st week of March,

He added that portfolios will be given to new cabinet ministers by two days and the Government is striving for the universal growth, development of state in all the sectors

NEP 2020 implementation plan for School Education released 

In accordance with the recommendations of the New Education Policy the Ministry of Education has initiated implementation of NEP by undertaking the activities like

50 hours of mandatory Continuous Professional development of teachers, 18 modules of 4-5 hours each comprehensively covering all aspects of elementary education have been launched under NISHTHA on 6.10.20 for in service teacher training (CPD) in the online mode on DIKSHA platform,

In-principle approval has been given for setting up the National Mission on Foundational Literacy and Numeracy Mission.

E-learning has been expanded through DIKSHA, an access to a large number of curriculum linked e-content through several solutions such as QR coded Energized Textbooks (ETBs), courses for teachers, quizzes etc. been provided  

To provide emotional support and counselling to the students under distress an initiative called ‘Manodarpan’ for mental health and wellbeing of students launched,

MoU has been signed between Indian Sign Language Research and Training Centre (ISLRTC) and NCERT to develop Indian Sign Language dictionary for school education.  

CBSE will introduce improvement examination from the year 2021 and will introduce English and Sanskrit in 2 levels from the session 2021-22

Learning Outcomes upto Secondary level have been notified and draft of learning outcomes for senior secondary level have been released for inviting suggestions,

DA Hike likely for Central Government Employees 

As per the sources it is likely that the Central Government is planning to hike DA for it’s Central Employees by the end of its month, in the wake of COVID 19 pandemic the DA for Central Government employees was stopped temporarily since June 2020,

If everything goes fine the Central Government may announced hike in DA by 4% by the end of January 2021, the hike will benefit more than 1 crore pensioners and employees across the country.

Appointment of Guest Lectures in Technical colleges approved 

The Department of College and Technical Education, Karnataka has approved the appointment of Guest Faculty for the year 2020 – 21 in State Engineering and Polytechnic colleges,

It has stated that the guest Lecturers who had worked since March 2020 to be continued and if need arise for reduce of Guest Faculty number on the basis of Workload then those with less experience should be dropped and it has stated that the Guest Faculty should be appointed for this academic year till March 2021 only.

Road safety month to be observed from 18th January 

Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways and MSMEs Shri Nitin Gadkari will inaugurate the Road Safety Month in New Delhi on Monday,

It is being organised throughout the country to create awareness among general public and specially amongst the youth to improve safety on roads and to give an opportunity to all stakeholders to contribute to the cause of road safety,

During it awareness about various causes of road accidents and measures to prevent them will be highlighted by organizing various activities with School/college students, drivers and all other road users

Decision on reopening of classes for 1st year PUC Soon

In the wake of COVID 19 pandemic the schools and colleges were shut since March 2020, However the classes for 10th and 12th std have been started from 1st January 2021,

Meanwhile Karnataka Primary and Secondary Education Minister S Suresh Kumar said the decision on reopening of classes for 1st year PUC will be taken, he added that a request has been received from principals and parents regarding the opening of the first PU class, which will be decided soon taking into consideration the impact of COVID 19 pandemic as safety of students too a concern.

30% reduced syllabus for 10th std finalised

As been announced earlier by Karnataka State Primary and Secondary Education Minister S Suresh Kumar that Karnataka State Government has decided to get reduce the syllabus by 30% for 10th std as academic year got started late due to COVID 19 pandemic and students get time for preparations as Exams 2021 are scheduled to be held in June,

Polio vaccination drive on 31st January 2021

Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW) in consultation with the office of the Hon’ble President of India to reschedule the Polio vaccination day, also known as the National Immunisation Day (NID) or “Polio Ravivar” to 31th January 2021 (Sunday),

The Hon’ble President will launch the Polio National Immunisation Day on 30th January 2021 (Saturday) by administering Polio drops to some children at the Rashtrapati Bhawan at 11.45 am,

The decision to reschedule from 17th January to 31st January 2021 been taken as massive countrywide COVID-19 vaccination drive will be rolled out by Hon’ble Prime Minister from 16th January, 2021
