The University Grants Commission has created the ‘Academic Job Portal’ at UGC website which helps NET/SET/Ph.D. qualified candidates to bring their academic profile to the attention of universities/colleges and other employers with the ultimate aim to get them a suitable job,

The portal also facilitates employers to register and post the job vacancies on this portal so that candidates can apply against the vacancies

Karnataka Education Department requests the DC’s to relieve teachers from COVID 19 duty

The Department of Public Instruction, Karnataka has requested the District Commissioners (DC) to relieve the Teaching and Non Teaching staff of Government Primary and High Schools from COVID 19 duty

The last date of re-registration for the July 2021 session has been extended till 30th June 2021 by the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU),

The Re-registration refers to the process of registering for the next year or semester of a programme.

The Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and Higher Education Minister Dr CN Ashwatha Narayana said the Karnataka State Government has dropped plan of conducting Common Entrance Test (CET) for admission to B.Sc Under Graduate course for the academic year 2021 – 22,

It was earlier thought to conduct CET for admission to B.Sc to raise the standard of Science Graduation but now it will not be held.

UG courses New Academic year to start from October, Says DCM

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and Higher Education Minister Dr CN Ashwatha Narayana after holding the virtual discussion today with the Vice Chancellors of all Universities said in the wake of ongoing COVID 19 pandemic, the Under Graduate Courses admission for the academic year 2021 – 22 to be started in 1st Week of October and all Education activities to be commenced from October 2021,

He added as due to COVID 19 pandemic all the 2nd year PU students have been declared pass without holding exams, there is more demand for admission to Under Graduate Courses,

He added from this year National Education Policy is being implemented, the Chancellors have also been instructed to formulate a Subcommittee on Formulation of a Competent Action Framework,

The tabs are being given to all the students to facilitate in technology based learning and the comprehensive learning management system has already been implemented, it has been decided to enroll the students through an integrated university and college management system.

A separate digital portal is being developed by the Department of E Governance whose demo will be released by 25th June 2021, he further said all activities related to higher education to be done through e-office and he made it clear that there was no room for paperwork

Karnataka High Court questions can 1st year PU Marks be considered for 2nd year PU Exam repeaters results? 

In the wake of ongoing COVID 19 pandemic, Karnataka State Government announced cancel of 2nd year PU Exams for this year and stated that the 2nd year PU Students results (Freshers) will be evaluated on the basis of their SSLC and 1st year PU Marks but the Repeaters have to attend for the Exams to be conducted once the situation gets normal,

However a PIL was filed in the High Court Questioning the Evaluation strategy by 2nd year PU Exam repeaters,

The Karnataka High Court has asked the state Government to give its opinion on can 1st year PU Marks can be considered for 2nd year PU Exam repeaters, the hearing been postponed to 17th June 2021
