UPSC Geo Scientist Recruitment


The Combined Geo-scientist and Geologist exam is organized by the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) to recruit eligible candidates for the GSI (Geographical Survey of India) and Central Water Board. The candidates are opted for Group ‘A’ posts in Geologist, Geophysicist and Chemist and Group ‘B’ post of Junior Hydrologists.

Every year, the Commission releases the Combined Geo-scientist and Geologist exam notification in September to shortlist the candidates for the posts. The selection will be based on the competitive examination. Their selection in each stage of the exam will be purely based on merit and will be selected only after satisfying all the eligibility criteria.

Aspirants must cleared Bachelor’s degree in any stream or any equivalent qualification from recognized University/ Institution/ Board by Government of India or approved by Government Regulatory Bodies.

The admit card can be downloadable on the official website of IBPS. The admit card will not be sent to candidates for their postal address. Hence, the candidates are advised to download their admit card 10 days prior to exam.

It will be better to take a printout of the admit card and keep it with you and carry that to exam hall.

IBPS SO may announce results of written exam in February 2021. Only the qualified candidates in the written test will get the opportunity to appear for the interview round.

The SBI PO Results will be announced on the official website of SBI, the administering body of the Probationary Officer exam.

There is a phase-wise declaration of results in this exam. The final collective score of the exam reflects the final list of selected candidates on merit basis. They receive the appointment letter from SBI and confirmation of their deputation.

  • The aspirant must be an Indian citizen.
  • Aspirant age limit varies from one post to the other post. The minimum age of aspirant is 21 years which is fixed by SBI and the maximum age must be 35 years. There is certainly exclusion of age to the reserved categories.
  • The aspirant must cleared graduate from any recognized university.If you are applying for Deputy General Manager (Law, Contractual) then your age must be from 42-52 years.
  • Aspirants must have acquired a degree of Law for 3 or 5 years from a recognized University of India can apply for exam.
  • In addition to this, aspirants must have bar council of India and there he/she will be registered as an advocate.
  • Also, aspirants must have at least 17 years of experience in the Legal Department as a law officer of Asset Reconstruction Company or Scheduled Commercial Banks or Financial Institutions and also have extensive experience in Rehabilitation & Recovery.


  • The examination is divided into two phases online examination (computer-based) and interview.
  • Online examination is a computer-based test comprised of four sections such as English Language, Professional Knowledge, Reasoning, and Qualitative Aptitude.
  • The question paper consists of 170 questions which are of objective type. The reasoning and professional knowledge section contains 50 questions each and the English and quantitative section will have 35 questions each.
  • The candidate is required to complete the examination in 2 hours and 15 minutes.
  • There will be negative marking for every incorrect answer.

The Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (now known as Ministry of Education), Government of India has entrusted the responsibility of conducting Joint Entrance Examination JEE (Main) to the NTA, Notification for the year 2021 announced, The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) comprises of two papers.

The Paper 1 is conducted for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs (B.E/B. Tech) at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), Institutions, Universities funded, recognized by participating State Governments, as well as an eligibility test for JEE (Advanced), which is conducted for admission to IITs.

JEE (Main)-2021 will be conducted in Four Sessions (February/ March/ April/ May), This will give multiple opportunities to the candidates to improve their scores in the examination if they fail to give their best in one attempt, however the Candidate has option to apply for one Session or for more than one Session (February/March /April /May 2021) together and pay exam fee,

The syllabus of JEE (Main) 2021 is same as that of the last year. However, keeping in view the decision taken by different Boards all over India, NTA has decided that there will be a total of 90 Questions in the Question Paper and candidate will be required to attempt 75 questions only. Aspirants may be from India as well as international applicants are eligible to appear for exam.

Aspirants who are from abroad need to secure the necessary marks /percentage from board recognized by AIU to become eligible for JEE Main.

There is no any age limit recommended to appear for JEE Main 2021 exam.

You can attend JEE mains as many times as you can as there is no attempt limit.

JAB has decided to give one more chance to students who could not take JEE Advanced 2020 due to Covid-19. Such students will not have to re-qualify by writing JEE Main 2021 and will be allowed to directly appear in the JEE Advanced 2021 exam.

Step 6 :Candidates will receive SMS or mail on their registered mobile number or mail id regarding successful submission of form after completing the application process.

JEE Main Application Fee payment can be made using any e-payment methods through online mode. Candidatescan pay the fee through net banking/debit/credit card/PAYTM/UPI. There is no offline mode entertained to pay the application fee. In case if candidates can’t appear for which they already paid application fee then it will be refunded by the officials.

The e-Admit Card would be issued provisionally to the candidates through the NTA website, subject to the fulfilment of the eligibility conditions and receipt of prescribed application fee by NTA, The candidate has to download the Admit Card from the NTA website. The candidate will appear in the examination at the given Centre on the date and shift/timing as indicated in his/her e-Admit Card


The NTA will display Provisional Answer Key of the questions on the NTA website, with a Public Notice issued to this effect on the said website, to provide an opportunity to the candidates to challenge the Provisional Answer Keys with a non-refundable online payment of Rs. 200/- per question challenged as processing charges. The provisional Answer Keys are likely to be displayed for two to three days

JEE Mains NTA Score

Evaluation of multiple choice questions of B.E./B.Tech, B.Arch and B.Planning will be carried out using final answer keys and the raw (actual) marks obtained by a candidate will be considered further for computation of the result of JEE (Main) February -2021.

Based on the collective performance in Tier-I, Tier-II and Tier-III rounds, the candidates name will be shortlisted for final selection subject to their Character and Antecedent verification followed by medical examination, etc. 



Selection of the candidates will be made on the basis of a written exam, followed by an interview test. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, this year exam will be held online.

Candidates will take a 1 hour exam; paper consists of 100 questions in 5 sections such as General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, Numerical/Logical/Analytical Ability and Reasoning, English Language and General Studies. For each incorrect answer, there will be0.25 marks deduction.

Candidates who clear Tier-I and Tier-II examination will move on to Tier 3, which is an interview of 100 Marks. Those who appear for the interview may be asked to take a Psychometric/Aptitude Test.

Tier 2 will be a descriptive type of exam. Candidates will take a 1 hour exam with 50 marks divided into two parts, Essay and English Comprehension & Précis Writing.

Selection of the candidates for the post of Gramin Dak Sevak will be made on the basis of the automatically generated merit list from online application submission. A merit list will be arranged on the basis of candidate’s scores in class 10th. The marks scored by the candidate with highest grade will not be entertained by the selection committee. Therefore standards for selection will be based on only marks secured in 10th standard from approved Boards aggregated to percentage to the accuracy of 4 decimals.

Those candidates, who have secured their marks in the form of grade as per the process of their board, will have to change the grades into marks. 

If 2 candidates get the same marks in class 10th then their selection will be made on the basis of their Date of Birth. The elder candidate will get the preference than the younger one in case of the same score in class 10th.
